History
Once
upon a time members of the Chapel-en-le-Frith Cotswold
Morris men, and their wives saw border Morris on one of their many weekends out
and Thought 'we should try that.' So, they did, they got in contact with
Flagcrackers of Craven border Morris side (who were very nice) Who in turn
decided to give the Border Wannabes the chance to learn some dances. The dances taught
were 'Hey up Joe' and 'Upton Stick'. Now that the wannabes had dances under
their belt, they wanted to show off their newly gained talent, but other members
decided on having practice session instead. So off went one of the wannabes in
search of finding a place of practice, and lo! deep in the valley of Whaley
Bridge was the destiny Whaley Bridge's Uniting Church where sweat, blood,
hair and tears
are shed (well sweat anyway) every Wednesday 7:30-9.30pm.
